New Mission Call

Suzanne and I received our Mission Call on Saturday, November 27, 2010 to serve in the Canada Vancouver Mission for 18 months.  We will be serving as Office Specialists where our main responsibilities will be to take care of many of the administrative functions for 145 full time missionaries. This would include vehicle administration, transportation for the missionaries in and out of their individual districts and zones, conference set-ups, etc.  We will not know everything until we finish our training at the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah starting January 3rd.

For a long time we have desired to serve a mission after Paul retired which happened in April of 2010. We applied in March and it took until November to complete everything and to meet all of the requirements. We will rent a 2 bedroom basement apartment that the prior missionary couple had and
is about the same as the first apartment we moved into when we were first married in 1967.  It is close to the Mission Home and right across the street from one of Vancouver's many parks.  Since we are allowed to drive our car, we will have some flexibility and independence on our P-Day (personal day) where we do our shopping, laundry, and hopefully see some of the sites that Vancouver is famous for.

WE ARE EXCITED AND FEEL IT IS A PRIVILEGE TO SERVE!
